Street Meat

How cool! New York Magazine just came out with an article about all the trucks roaming around NYC with scrumptious meals for overworked Manhattanites and worktrippers alike. If you've ever wondered exactly how many trucks are out there, well New York Magazine has a chart for you in the article, Trucks on a Roll. F7E has personally tried the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, Rickshaw Dumpling Truck, Wafels & Dinges, and Schnitzel & Things - all delish and quick! So if you're boss wants to do a summer outing at the park, suggest to call up one of these guys, just in case the CFO turned BBQ chef lied about is grilling skills.

Across the Pond to Paramount

Isn't it a tad tricky trying to find that perfect venue for a meeting followed by cocktails and appies in a big city? Try doing that on foreign soil. Unless you know somebody who knows somebody who's been somewhere, let's face it, you're stuck. But reading hip newsletters like JuliB and The Purple Passport will keep you in the know. We just found this little gem in London: Paramount. Located at the top of Centre Point, Paramount Restaurant is a spectacular space with 360 degrees of vista views of London. It's perfect for a wide range of events. Check out the deets and pix on their site!

PUMA® City Comes to NY for World Cup Month

PUMA, that sports brand we all know and love, is setting up shop for a month in honor of the FIFA World Cup taking place in South Africa. The venue, to be located at South Street Seaport, will bring a shopping, sports and event space concept to the piers. The above picture was taken from PUMA City in Boston last year, in case you were wondering what to expect.

From mini-tournaments to clinics to athlete appearances, PUMA has it all planned out for us lucky New Yorkers.

If that weren't enough, there's also The PUMA Social Club - a fully operational event space to host DJS, ping pong tournaments, fooseball games and more. The PUMA Social Club experience will create awareness among New Yorkers of PUMA's sport and lifestyle mix.

PUMA City officially launches on Friday, June 11 at the South Street Seaport. For more info, visit www.pumacity.com.

Wall Street Hype

Fusion Seven went downtown last week for the grand opening of 1834 Bar & Burger - the new, 'meaty' joint of the Wall Street steakhouse hub. What we didn't know (or have forgotten) was how charming the Wall Street neighborhood could be - hardly and traffic lights, old village buildings mixed with corporate skyscrapers, cobblestone streets and views by the river.

1834 is a cute place if you want to have a relaxing time with friends. Rent out the top floor for a small party or the backroom on the lower floor for a watching games with friends - there are flatscreens all over the place! Make no mistake, 1834 has the pub feel that includes a rambunctious crowd.

1834 Bar & Burger is located at 62 Pearl Street at Broad Street. Tel: (212) 248-4848

Mad Hatter Tea Party

Caught up in the hype of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland? Fusion Seven sure did, at the request of client! Fusion Seven was asked to plan the first birthday of young Dylan Michael, from concept to decorations to entertainment.
Here are some photos of the festive event:

Colorful table decor with many allusions to Alice in Wonderinland. Favors for guests were mini-champagne bottles that (on the reverse) read "Drink me" and chocolate candy bars that read "Eat me".

Creating a collage of images for the client gives them an idea of what you envision. This "topsy-turvy" cake was based on a few images pulled from the internet. We hired a magician to do a few card tricks for the kids (and the adults!).

Centerpieces were made out of articifial flowers in teapots, compliented by pre-made mini-planters over a black and white checkered table cloth. Pastel confetti and playing cards were also scattered on the table to add to the Wonderland theme.

Wanna Pranna?

If you haven't heard by now, Pranna is the hottest venue for NYC event planners these days and a fave among the Housewives of NYC. What makes this place so fabulous? Space, space, space.

What's not so great? Getting in.

Pranna has a lot of nooks and crannies where you could have your private event. There's the lounge area past the main bar, where your event can be roped off to the uninvited. On the same floor is the main dining room, with gorgeous chadeliers and cathedral-like windows. On the upper level is the club lounge with space for dancing.

But Fusion Seven's favorite spot is the Cave on the lower level: a dimly-lit, brick lounge and private bar...perfect for an intimate party that wants to "groove" a little.

Whatever event you're planning, Pranna is worth a site visit!
